How can I book a tee time?

Tee times can be booked 24/7 through our online booking portal on our website. Booking online is the best way to view our Dynamic Pricing in real-time, ensuring you get the best available rate for your preferred date and time.

How far in advance can I book a tee time?

Standard reservations can be made up to 21 days in advance. Members of our various programs or those using The Ridge App may have access to different booking windows.

Do you offer golf lessons or clinics?

Yes! We offer a variety of instruction, including our popular “Golf 101” three-part clinic series and “Learn to Score” clinics focusing on putting and short game. Private lessons are also available through our PGA professionals. Please call the Pro Shop at (530) 888-7888 ext. 2 to reserve a spot.

Are carts available, and is there a cart fee?

Most of our daily rates include a cart fee. For rounds where a cart is not included (such as certain junior rates), a cart fee of $40 applies. While walking is permitted, please be aware that the course features significant elevation changes.

Do you provide rental clubs?

Yes, premium rental sets are available in the Pro Shop. We recommend calling ahead to reserve a set to ensure availability for your specific tee time.

Is there a dress code?

Yes. Both men and women are required to wear collared shirts. We ask that you refrain from wearing denim (all colors), t-shirts, athletic jerseys, swimwear, or cut-offs. We are a soft-spike-only facility; however, tennis shoes are permitted.

Do you have practice facilities?

The Ridge features a premier practice facility, including a driving range with 25 hitting stations (mats Monday–Friday, grass on weekends, weather permitting), two large putting greens, and a separate short-game area for chipping and bunker practice.

Are children allowed on the course?

Yes, we are a family-friendly facility! We offer special Junior rates for players under 18 and participate in the Youth on Course program ($5 rounds after 11:00 AM with a valid card). All juniors must be accompanied by an adult.

Do you have water stations on the course?

Water is available at various points on the course. Additionally, the The Ridge Bar & Grill and our beverage carts provide a full selection of refreshments and snacks.

What types of tournaments or events are hosted at The Ridge?

The Ridge is a premier venue for both golf tournaments and social events. We host a wide range of corporate outings, charity fundraisers, and competitive events. Notably, we were the home of the LPGA’s Longs Drug Challenge in 2004 and 2005. Our Events Center is also a top-tier choice for weddings and banquets.

Are there twilight or weekday specials?

Yes! We offer Twilight rates starting at 2:00 PM and Super Twilight rates starting at 4:00 PM daily. These offer excellent value for those looking to enjoy the course in the late afternoon.

Does The Ridge have on-site dining?

Absolutely. The Ridge Bar & Grill offers a full menu featuring delicious lunch options and a bar with beer, wine, and spirits. It features a great patio overlooking the course.

Is there a Pro Shop at The Ridge?

Yes, our full-service Pro Shop is stocked with the latest apparel, balls, and equipment from top brands. It is the central hub for check-ins and lesson bookings.

Are there any unique features of The Ridge?

Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the course is famous for its “foothills” layout, featuring 100-foot elevation changes, dramatic rock outcroppings, and centuries-old oak trees. Unlike many courses, there are no homes surrounding the fairways, providing a secluded, natural experience.

Do you issue rain checks or refunds for cancellations?

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid charges. Rain checks are typically issued only if the course becomes unplayable due to extreme weather (lightning or standing water).

Can I book online or only by phone?

While you can call the Pro Shop, booking online at ridgegc.com is the most efficient way to see all available times and the best dynamic rates.

How busy is the course on weekends?

As one of the Sacramento region’s top-rated courses, weekends are very popular and often sell out. We recommend booking the full 21 days in advance for weekend morning times.

Do you allow riders that are not playing golf?

Non-playing riders may be permitted for an additional $40 cart fee, subject to cart availability and course capacity.

Do you allow outside food and beverages?

No. Outside food and alcohol are strictly prohibited. Our Bar & Grill and beverage carts are available to service your needs.

What is the difficulty of the course?

The Ridge is a Par-71 championship layout. From the back (Gold) tees, it plays to a challenging 140 slope, but with four sets of tees, it is designed to be enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels.

Do your golf carts have GPS?

Our modern cart fleet is equipped with GPS to provide accurate yardages to the pin and hazards, helping you navigate the elevation changes.

Do you pair groups of less than 4?

Yes. To maintain a consistent pace of play, we pair singles, twosomes, and threesomes to create full foursomes during peak times.
